Royal Gendarmerie Blow Up Two Vehicles as a Warning to Stop Deforestation

KRATIE: The Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie of Cambodia, General Sao Sokha, ordered the Kratie Municipal Gendarmerie to blow up two vehicles after they were seized on 1 December.

The destroyed vehicles were modified SsangYong cars used for transporting illegal timber. Pictures of the vechiles show them transporting timber in a daring manner.

The blown up vehicles were confiscated by the Kratie Municipal Gendarmerie in cooperation with the Kampong Cham Provincial Gendarmerie on 1 November 2022. Both vehicles were transporting timber at Chheu Ter village, Khpob Ta Ngoun commune, Stung Trang district, Kampong Cham province.
